The Scottish Leather Binding Company story began in Edinburgh over 100 years ago when Hugh Dunn and W.T. Wilson, seven year time-served bookbinding apprentices, planned their first business venture together. The first premises opened in a single room in Baxter’s Wynd, Falkirk in July 1909.
Nowadays, the business is still proud to be based in the picturesque old town of Falkirk, and is situated adjacent to Helix Park and the world renowned Kelpies sculpture. The modern climate-controlled binding studios are home to some of the world’s finest leather craft hand-binders, producing the most exquisite and beautifully designed products from the finest leather skins tanned here in Scotland.
More than thirty-five highly skilled staff are employed at the Company’s headquarters in Falkirk and their work is now purchased by discerning customers throughout the world.
